2016 - 2017 Herb Society Programs
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church in Wimberley, Texas from August through May. Meet at 9:30 AM for refreshments and social time. Business meeting and program from 10 AM until noon. Herb Basics class will be held at 9AM prior to each meeting those members wishing to increase their knowledge about growing and using basic herbs.
September 20 - Cooking with Herbs Presented by The Blanco Master Gardeners
The Blanco Master Gardeners will be discussing their herb cookbook as well as doing cooking demos plus our members will provide refreshments made from their new cookbook. Presenters will be Brigid Abdenour, Morgan Drake, Suzanne Perkins and Angie Rudd.
October 18 - Emily Ann Garden Tour with Linda McDowell
Meeting at Emily Ann located on RR2325. Linda will give us a tour of our wonderful Herb Garden and show us how we are supporting the community with our education programs.
November 3 - 11AM to 2PM HerbFest 2017 Annual Fundraiser (see homepage for more info)
November 15 - Herb Butter Making with LeeAnn Bower
Learn how to make herbal butters with hands on learning and butters to take home.
December 06 2pm to 4pm - Christmas Tea Members Only at Martha Barchfeld's Home
January 17 - Making Ginger Desserts with Lauren
Professional culinary teacher and Wilton rep, Lauren will bring samples and recipes for ginger desserts.
February 21 - Water Wise Raised Trough Herb Gardens presented by Janet Bradford
Learn how to build your own trough garden with built in irrigation system that is perfect for our Central Texas climate. Approved Master Natural Advanced Training
March 21 - Honey Bees in the Garden with Kim Lehman
Kim will teach us about our "Tiny Treasures" and how important pollinators are to any herb garden. Approved Master Natural Advanced Training
April 18 - Field Trip to Zilker Botanical Gardens
May 16 - Growing and Culinary uses for Gingers and her cousins presented by Sara Holland & Henry Flowers
